Daily Record - Just Rowing Pains

By Elizabeth Hunter - Daily Record

A 5ft mum is set to become the smallest and lightest person to ever row solo across the Atlantic.

Milli Abrams, 48, from Fife, will begin the 3,000-mile journey from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua.

Milli will set off on December 12 and will also celebrate her 50th birthday on January 31, becoming one of just four women in their 50s to complete the row.

Milli, who is rowing for charity, said:

“I sailed across the Atlantic with my husband and son 14 years ago. It felt easy, and I’ve craved doing a crossing for more character-building.”

“Big 40ft waves are not unusual, and there are sharks – but I’m not as worried about the sharks.”
